Three Pigs and the Farmer's Son

Once upon a time there were three piggies; big piggy, middle piggy and baby piggy The three piggies loved to eat. They especially liked to eat truffles. They knew how to find truffles and they like to eat them.

One day, the piggies found a great big truffle, bigger than any truffle they had ever found. The most favorite food of a piggy is a truffle and this one looked very delicious. Well, the big piggy immediately wanted to eat the truffle, but the other two piggies stopped him "Why do you get to eat the truffle?" they said. Well the big piggy didn't have a good answer. So they decided to have a race. The winner of the race would eat the truffle.

They decided that the race was to go down to the lake and back. And they all agreed. They lined up at the start and the barnyard duck said "On your mark, get set, GO!!!" And they started off toward the lake.

At first they were very close but big piggy and middle piggy started to leave baby piggy behind. Baby piggy tried very hard but he couldn't catch up.

When big piggy got to the lake he noticed the farmer's son was sitting on a log crying. His ball had fallen in the lake and he couldn't swim out to get it. Well, everyone knows that piggies swim very well, so the farmer's son asked big piggy "Will you please go get my ball for me?"

"Oh no," said big piggy, "I must win the race so I can eat the truffle." And off big piggy ran as fast as he could.

Just then middle piggy got to the lake. The farmer's son was still crying. "Please middle piggy, will you swim out and get my ball?"

"Oh no" said middle piggy. "I must catch big piggy so I can eat the truffle." And ran off faster than before.

Finally, baby piggy arrived at the lake. Again, the farmer's son asked "Baby piggy, will you please swim out and get my ball?"

Baby piggy thought for a moment and decided to be kind to the farmer's son. "Yes, I will get your ball." And he swam out in the lake and got the ball for the farmer's son. The farmer's son was so happy that he had his ball again.

Baby piggy knew he wouldn't get the truffle but he was happy to help the farmer's son. When he got back to the barn, he saw that middle piggy who won the race was eating the truffle.

Many days later, the farmer asked his son to go out to the barn. He had a nice big truffle and he wanted to give it to one of the piggies. The farmer's son went to the barn and immediately gave the truffle to baby pig. A few weeks later, the same thing happened. The farmer's son and baby piggy became very good friends and lived happily ever after.

The Little Girl and The Robin

Once upon a time in a kingdom far far away, lived a little girl with beautiful long hair. The little girl loved her long hair and spent time every day during the winter combing her hair and caring for it.

At the end of the winter, the little girl was happy to finally go outside and play. While she was playing, a beautiful red-breasted Robin flew onto the gate in the back yard.

The Robin sang a song that the little girl really loved. The song was about the the sun going down and the moon coming up. It was a beautiful song and made the little girl smile.

It had been a long winter and the Robin was gathering things to make a nest for her eggs. The Robin looked carefully at the little girl's hair. Then the Robin said to the little girl, "Little girl, may I have a few inches of your beautiful hair to finish the nest for my new eggs?"

The little girl thought how much she loved her hair but the Robin really needed the hair and had shared her beautiful song with the little girl, so she took out her scissors and cut off a bit of her hair for the Robin. The little girl felt sad but then the Robin was very happy and flew away to finish her nest with the little girl's beautiful hair. There she laid four tiny blue eggs.

Many weeks later, the little girl was out for a walk. She had walked a long way and she was very hungry. She didn't know where to get any food and then she saw a familiar bird. It was the Robin. The Robin said "How are you today little girl?"

"I am very hungry and don't know where to find anything to eat," replied the little girl.

At that, the Robin flew away and in just a few minutes returned with a large bunch of delicious grapes which she gave to the little girl. The Robin said "You were so nice to me to share your hair with me that I am happy to help you anytime I can."

The little girl enjoyed the delicious grapes and always remembered that when you share you always get something in return.
